Cycling from Seez, France to Barrage de Tignes, France

A short 15 mile ride to here, uphill all the way to this hostel closest to the Col de l'Iseran. Arrived about 2 PM greeted by a group of Belgians who were just finishing their week of parapente and summer skiing and snowboarding at 11,000 ft. Hopefully the short day will give me a little rest before tomorrow's big climb.

Dinner here was potato soup, pork chops, tartelet, the traditional savoyarde potatoes au gratin, the plateau de fromage and chocolate pastry with fresh cream. A group of French arrived later with bottles of homemade eau d'vie which they shared with us.

Have been seeing lots of snow on the hillsides for the past two days, getting closer to the road. A very convivial group here and everyone stayed up very late, so much for a good rest! Will be up really high tomorrow, so maybe I can hook up the email.
