Cycling from Le Puy-en-Velay, France to Lyon, France
It had rained while I was in Le Puy, and today
started off cool and cloudy. I left early and followed the Loire
and the train along the D103, stopping at
the bakery in Durianne for a brioche and coffee, then through the awesome gorges up to
Retournac. Here the river resembles a western trout stream, very wild, with gravel banks
from flood season.
Rolling into Lyon through St. Etienne as the city gradually developed.
This was the end of my trip, with a train ride back to Paris and the jet
back to the States.
