Cycling from Ballon d'Alsace,
France to Colmar, France
The next morning dawned fine and cool. I left early in
search of breakfast, dropping off the Ballon on t
he D465,
meeting the N66 at St. Maurice sur
Moselle. Here the majestic Moselle is just a trickle and I got a shot of
the Source
de la Moselle on the way up to the Col de Bussang (731m). Down through
Thann to Cernay, where the D35 an
d D5
gave a break from the nationale. At Guebwiller picked up the the D3-bis
and the D201 into Ste. Croix-en-Plaine
and the N422 into Colmar.
The
hostel is in a fairly central location, very clean and modern. Met two nice
Bielefelders and had some fun sampling the local repasts. Altogether an easy
day.
